Audio download: Boston band 007 -- Kind of a hybrid of The Specials, PiL, The Clash and the Bad Brains. Now there's a new 2016 remaster of live performances from 1980-82 available for digital download. The early material is kinda mod/ska later material kinda dub/post punk. You’re welcome to download an audio track at no charge. Just enter 00.00 in the payment box. We don’t mind!

Dub7 was a continuation of 007 in a slightly different lineup after Dee Rail and the band parted ways. This single was played in heavy rotation on WBCN after the band came in second in the 1984 Rumble. We weren't happy with the mastering on the record. It sounded huge in the studio but kind of tinny on vinyl. Here, finally, the bigness is restored. Within the band, we all agree that the long instrumental ending of this track is the best thing we ever recorded.

Racially mixed, opening for acts identified with the British ska revivial of the time — The Specials, The English Beat, Bad Manners — 007 (Dub7) was frequently labeled a "ska band." ... more
